Influence of the Pyrotechnic Igniter Composition Aging on Explosion Parameters of Dispersed Dusts

A commercially available pyrotechnic igniter was used according to the EN 14034 and ASTM E1226a Standards study explosiveness of dispersed dusts. Its composition consists 1.2 g zirconium (40% wt.), barium peroxide (30% wt.) nitrate wt.). The energy released during combustion that amount is 5 kJ. article investigates influence aging in on its initiation parameters. In study, igniters different years from date manufacture were used: Igniter 1, manufactured 2021 (less than 1 year manufacture), 2 (more manufacture). performed KV 150M2 explosion chamber with a volume 365 L 20 sphere L. standard sample Lycopodium clavatum chamber. Magnesium benzoic acid as samples experiment showed pressure Pmax more decreased by up 10%, while value constant Kst 40%. attained results proved affects their parameters measurement accuracy.
